Got a message from someone claiming to be MBNA, seemed alright at first, said something about fraud on my card. Then they sent me another text asking me to reply yes or no about a payment I supposedly made. They warned if I didn't reply, my card would get blocked. After that, my mobile rang with an automated voice telling me to press a number. Then the same automated call came through on my home phone as well. Proper muppets, honestly. You really have to be on your guard with this one, most scams like this are pretty obvious but this one’s sneaky.

Got a text from this number to verify a call I'd gotten on my landline claiming to be from Halifax about some fraud alert. The caller sounded really believable, but after ringing Halifax directly using another mobile, turns out the caller was actually trying to scam me. The original landline call came from 07938339952.

I'm pretty sure this number is linked to some kind of bank scam. Just be super careful if you get a call from them.
