Got a call from something called National Crime, all robotic and claiming my NI number was about to be suspended due to fraud concerns, stuff about freezing assets too. They asked me to press 1 to chat with an officer. Obviously, your NI number can't just get suspended out of the blue - even if it's appeared on some dodgy websites - and assets can’t be frozen without real legal steps. Funny enough, phoning you about this is basically giving you a heads up, which actually breaks anti-money laundering rules! Best just to steer clear - total scam.
