Got this text outta nowhere sayin’ HMRC had 'checked their files' and that I’m due a tax refund soon. Instantly, I figured it was a load of rubbish so I just blocked the sender. The message told me to log into some site like 'viewmyrebate[###]', which I’m not touching with a barge pole. For what it’s worth, I did get HMRC to check my tax stuff a few weeks back, but still, it’s hard not to be suspicious, right? Just proves you can’t trust everything you get in a text!
