I've had something alike happen to me - got a text on my BT home landline from a number I didn't recognise. It started off with "We have been trying to reach you urgently..." and asked me to call an 0161 number. I lost interest pretty quick and just deleted it. Pretty annoying, to be honest, but not much different from the constant calls I get on my mobile, usually about car crash claims, which has been happening for a good couple of years now. Any that I've looked into seem to come from somewhere in the North-West.
