Got a call earlier claiming to be from Sky insurance, which is odd coz I don’t even have Sky. I told ‘Mike’ (who had an Indian accent) a few choice words, and guess what? He just ended the call straight away!

So I got a message claiming there might be some dodgy activity on my account, saying to watch out for a follow-up from 07860028711 with more info. Sure enough, a text arrived from that number mentioning suspicious transactions. After that, I got a call from an 0800 number warning me about possible fraud too. To be safe, I rang NatWest’s fraud department on 03457 888 444. They asked me about those transactions I didn’t make, and once I confirmed I hadn’t done them, they blocked my debit card straight away.

Got a message claiming it was from the Royal Bank of Scotland about an attempted Amazon purchase on my card. The text had a link and everything, looked kinda dodgy. So, I rang RBS using my landline and they confirmed it was just a phishing scam. Told me to steer clear of that link, which is exactly what I’m doing.

somebody rang saying they were from natwest, said there was a suspicious transaction on my account that had been stopped. then this person mentioned they'd send me a text from a number they told me, so i could have a look. a few seconds later i got a message about a supposed payment to birmingham council that was turned down. i didn't click anything but still ended up spending half an hour digging into it all when i really should be asleep. proper annoying!

Got a text asking me to confirm the last three payments on my NatWest account by clicking ‘y’ if I recognised them. I didn’t click any links, obviously. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

I got a message saying it was from EE and to look into it, but I wasn’t convinced it was legit. It seemed a bit off, especially since some people mentioned NatWest instead. Strange situation!

Banks often say they'll never send texts like that, but I recently got one claiming to be from NatWest fraud department, asking me for personal info through an automated message. I'm not sure if it’s legit or not, but since banks usually advise against texting for those things, it definitely made me wary.
