I checked and it’s definitely Everbridge calling on behalf of my work, which is a bank here in the UK. I also asked around the team, and apparently loads of companies use them to send emergency alerts or urgent messages, like when there’s a problem with water supply or something similar.

This number belongs to Everbridge, a mass messaging firm that various companies use to send SMS or voice alerts. My local water supplier, United Utilities, seems to use it to notify customers about service outages. That said, some messages, like those about Amazon orders, do come across as quite suspicious. I guess it's possible that some dodgy people might be exploiting this service to scam folks! Not sure though. If you get a message containing a link, it's probably safer not to tap on it and instead visit the official company or service website directly.

Got texts from this number claiming to be BNP Paribas and Nomura on different occasions, so I guess it’s connected to that big emergency alert company Everbridge people keep mentioning. I’m labelling it as annoying since they never explain where they got my info from and all the messages so far have been fake emergencies, just drills really.

Right after getting my COVID jab, this number messaged me saying the Trust had no record of me. It included a link, but there’s no way I’ll click it until I’m certain what’s going on. I’m planning to email my Trust’s COVID team to check. Some comments here say it’s from Everbridge and looks legit, but others reckon it’s a scam, so it’s a bit confusing.

I work with Everbridge and this number belongs to them. If you’re getting calls and have no idea why, it’s probably because someone typed your number in wrong. You can just ignore it, but their system is made to keep trying and will keep calling or texting till you answer. Once you respond, the calls should stop. They already have your number and it’s not a premium rate. If this keeps happening, you can call the free number 0800 035 0081 and tell them you’ll take legal action under GDPR for keeping your personal info without your permission.
