I've come across a legitimate company myself that's similar to the one mentioned above. Recently, I got a text message inviting me to take part in a survey. It did provide a 'Stop' option, yet there was no way to actually participate in the survey. After doing some digging on this site, it’s clear that it’s just another scam number. I've now added it to my block list!

Just yesterday, I was in touch with a legitimate business through email, my landline, and my mobile phone. However, this morning at precisely 09:02, I received a rather dodgy text message purporting to be from that same company, inviting me to take part in a survey. It started with “Q1...” and wrapped up with “to opt out reply STOP.” The authentic business always instructs me to log into my account to check any communications, so this message today was undoubtedly a scam! I've gone ahead and forwarded it to the designated number for reporting such texts, which is 7726.

Beware of this trickery! I've received a text message asking me to participate in a survey, and it seemed innocent enough at first. They instructed me to reply with "STOP" if I wasn't interested, which I did, only to find that they had cheekily deducted 45p from my account, an amount that is well beyond what's covered in my contract. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re pulling this stunt on millions of others as well. It's glaringly obvious that it’s all part of a devious scam. The texts come through as a premium rate SMS and often masquerade as messages from familiar names, perhaps even your bank or a local NHS appointment. Stay alert, my friends!
