Received a message from someone called Sarah saying she’d hurt herself falling down the stairs at the hospital. I only spotted the text a couple of hours after she sent it. Then, about 7 hours after that, I got another message asking me to send a voucher for credit.

this is mad, got a message earlier today right after chatting with my mate sarah who i only contact on my work phone cause she’s a colleague. then about an hour later, this dodgy text arrived from what looked like sarah’s personal number saying she’d hurt her wrist and needed a phone top-up voucher. i sent £20 without thinking. then the real sarah rang me moments ago, telling me she was fine and hadn’t hurt herself at all. turns out it was a total scam. proper annoyed.

Got a call like that too, some woman claiming she’d hurt herself or whatever. Didn’t buy it, just blocked the number straight away.

Today I got the same message, saying "Hi, it's Sarah, I broke my fibula and my left wrist." I asked which Sarah it was, and they said "Sarah Tol." Bit suspicious, so I’m just going to block the number now. Cheers for the post, it made me realise straight away it’s a scam. It’s sad though, because lots of folks probably know a Sarah and might get worried.

Got a message from someone called Sarah saying she’d had a bad fall, broke her wrist and fibula, and wanted a favour. She asked me to reply because the signal was poor, but it felt off - seemed like she was fishing to get me to buy a phone voucher or something dodgy like that. Definitely a scam, watch out for texts like that.
