Got a really long text saying to have a lovely Christmas and stay safe from covid. Seems dodgy to me since the number's unfamiliar and they didn't even say who they are. Probably a scam.

Received a ring from some so-called Citizens Advice Bureau about a debt I supposedly owe - wasn’t aware they got involved in stuff like that. I asked a couple of questions to figure out what they were on about, then the callers voice switched abruptly mid chat, clearly passing the phone along. The bloke insisted it was just because he’d taken it off the handset, which was a bit laughable! So I did my regular move, told em 'just a moment', and put the phone beside the telly while I walked away...

I just got a call claiming to be from citizens advice. The guy said I had some old debt with tiny payments and they wanted everything paid right away. I told him I had no clue what he was on about. Then he got all angry, said bailiffs were coming for me, swore at me and hung up straight away.

some bloke said he was ringing about a government debt scheme. i told him to take me number off their list and just hung up. then he calls me again all rude, saying he’s from the government. ringing me on a saturday as well. proper nasty and not polite at all.

Just got a call from them saying I supposedly have unsecured debt. I’m super careful with money and pretty much obsessed with keeping track, so I knew straight away it was rubbish. When I laughed, he asked why, and I told him I know my finances well and he was a complete joke. As I ended the call, he let out this weird, loud squawk like a parrot. Total muppet.

Got a call, I picked up. The guy said the same as others mentioned, claiming to be from Money Advice UK. Weirdly, he knew my name which I found odd, and when I asked how, he said it was from a Government database. I just laughed at that. Then he went on about me having unsecured debt, but I told him I didn't, and he just ended the call. I've blocked the number now.

I received a call from someone who seemed to know my name and claimed to have information from the government regarding some outstanding debts of mine. I informed him that he had the wrong person and promptly ended the conversation.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, claiming he was from Citizens Advice offering to sort out my debts. When I asked how he got my number, he said it was from some lenders' database saying I owed money. I told him that wasn’t true and I didn’t owe anything, then he just swore at me, told me to "f##k off and d##k you c#!t!" Proper rude.

What a muppet, pretending to be from citizens advice. Like some have mentioned, he started with "I think you owe some money". I told him I don’t owe anything and asked why he was ringing from a mobile if he was really from CAB. He just kept dodging the question. I then told him if he’s really from citizens advice, he should send me a letter instead.

This number has called me twice now. First time, the person claimed to be from Citizens Advice Bureau, and the second, it was some credit check company. Both times, they wanted to ask about my unsecured debts. I’ve blocked the number and reported it already.

This number rang me earlier today, some bloke who sounded Asian. He kept asking for my missus by her name. When I kept asking who he was, all he did was repeat that he needed to talk to her. After a bunch more questions from me about who he was, he just gave up, said he must’ve dialled the wrong number and hung up. What a muppet.

Got two calls within an hour from some bloke claiming to be from citizens advice, saying he could sort out my debts. I told him citizens advice wouldn’t just ring like that out of nowhere, then I ended the call and blocked the number. Checked the official cab site and yeah, they don’t make unsolicited calls. Definitely a scam.

07840552230 said they were from the citizens advice bureau. I played along with their spiel, then dropped that I’m a customer service trainer and told them their script was rubbish. Turns out it’s from some online thing called hostcomm. That’s probably how they nab your info.

They ring like 3 or 4 times every day. When you tell them you’re not interested, they’re really rude. I just stopped answering now and blocked old numbers, but somehow they keep calling back with new ones a day or two later. This has been happening for weeks.

Some guy with an accent that wasn’t English called me about four times and I kept missing the calls. When I finally picked up on the fifth try, he said he was from Citizens Advice and went on about a list of debts I supposedly had! I’ve never been in debt and I certainly won’t be. He was pretty pushy but I refused to play along. I knew it was all a con as soon as he mentioned the debts, haha! My best advice is to pick up and just mess with them a bit. I asked him for his bank info to see if he’d sort out those made-up debts for me!!

Got a call from someone with a thick Asian accent askin if my missus had any unsecured debts. I told him it was my number and to never ring again. He still had the nerve to say he was from the UK Money Advice Service. I ended up telling him about data protection and harassment laws here in the UK, and then he actually started threatening me. Proper cheeky!
