So basically, this phantom debt scam is when you get random calls from people acting like they’re debt collectors or bailiffs. They pretend they’re working on behalf of a court or some organisation and say they’re chasing money you supposedly owe, but the debt is totally made up. It’s all a con to scare you into paying something that isn’t real.
