The phone line kept cutting out and was really scratchy at the start. I got a call telling me to press one because apparently I've been involved in tax fraud, and if I didn't press it, the police would come and arrest me! It was one of those robot voices and only went on for like 29 seconds. Of course, I just ended the call straight away, but I can imagine how frightening that must be for someone older or more vulnerable. I've already let HMRC know about it.

I've had three calls from this number already, two of them in just the last week. The first time I actually contacted HMRC about it. The most recent call was a recorded voice claiming HMRC issued a warrant for my arrest over tax evasion, telling me to call them back on that same number. When I dialled it, it said the number wasn't in use. This number is seriously dodgy, and these scammers need to be put to a stop.
