I’ve just had a right laugh with the same dodgy bloke calling from overseas, claiming there’s a problem with our computer. I couldn’t help but say, “That’s brilliant as I've just sold it!” Despite my cheeky comment, he soldiered on, insisting we switch on the old machine so he could point out the issue. We eventually decided to hang up, leaving him chatting away to our daughters’ pet gerbils for a good twenty minutes! What a cheek!

This number keeps calling but never has the decency to leave a message. Quite bothersome, really!

We managed to really vex this foreign chap. He started raising his voice progressively until he was practically bellowing at us. We ended up placing the phone down on the table, yet the daft bloke kept on yelling for a good five seconds afterwards! He was adamantly insisting that we switch our computers on, claiming he could enlighten us on what was supposedly amiss. The irony? They were already powered up and running. When we inquired about where he was calling from, he mentioned he was in India.

Just received a call around half six this evening, claiming there were issues with my computer. The caller, who sounded Asian, said he was representing Microsoft and directed me to visit COMANTRA.NET, assuring me they would sort out any problems on my PC. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Honestly, it's high time someone put a stop to this scam! I received a phone call from an Indian lady claiming there were issues with my computer and that she could assist in sorting it out. The moment I mentioned that everything was functioning perfectly and that I had some expertise in the area, she quickly dismissed my concerns and hung up! It’s alarming to think about the vulnerable elderly folks who might fall for such ruses and potentially end up losing their hard-earned cash. This absolutely warrants a proper investigation, as these individuals are nothing short of crooks!

About two hours back, our phone rang with an unexpected call. The caller was asking for our mum, to which I replied that this is her daughter speaking. He inquired about my age, and I told him I’m 13. Then, he bizarrely insisted that I turn on our computer. Honestly, it sent chills down my spine! I’m now having a chat with a mate about it all. He mentioned something about visiting logmein123.com and getting connected to a chap named Kevin Brown. We quickly realised it was a scam, so we decided to hang up. Yet, they kept ringing back, which made us quite jittery, so we threatened to call the police. Strangely enough, that seemed to do the trick and they stopped trying to contact us! :)

On the 27th of May, we received a rather peculiar phone call. The caller claimed to be affiliated with a prominent software firm and insisted that there was a problem with software we had installed on our computer. When we asked for the name of the company she purportedly represented, she was rather evasive and refused to divulge any details. Not convinced by her assertions, we decided to end the conversation and hung up. Quite the suspicious encounter, don't you think?

Just a couple of hours past, our phone rang with an unexpected call. The caller was asking for our mum, and I stepped in to say, “It’s her daughter here.” They inquired about our age, to which I replied, “I’m 13.” Then they oddly instructed us to turn on our computer. To be honest, we were quite frightened and decided to share this odd situation with a friend. They insisted we visit logmein123.com to connect with someone named Kevin Brown. We quickly realised it was a scam, so we shut everything down and ended the call. Despite this, the caller kept trying to reach us again. Eventually, we threatened to involve the police, and that seemed to do the trick! 😊

I just received a call from this number. It was a rather lengthy five minutes filled with music, followed by a voice with a foreign accent claiming to be from Microsoft or one of their partners. They mentioned some issues with our computer and insisted it was quite urgent. We let them know that if it were truly that important, they should be able to oversee the correspondence, and that this call had taken place.

Take a look at page twenty of the July 2010 issue of PC Pro. There's a piece in there discussing this fraudulent scheme.

I happened to miss a call from this number and managed to catch it by using 1471. When I tried to ring them back, I was greeted with an automated message saying, “This number cannot be recognised.” Quite odd considering I simply pressed a button on my phone to return the call. It raises a few questions as to why it wouldn't be identifiable. Very peculiar indeed! After perusing the remarks on this site, it’s clear that had I read them beforehand, I wouldn't have bothered trying to return the call at all!

I noticed the same foreign accent ringing through. They insisted there was something amiss within the Windows system. It turns out our computer had picked up a dodgy file, and the situation got a bit dicey. However, we kept our cool and didn’t let it rattle us. That was the last we spoke about it.

I reckon it’s wise to check out all these comments before deciding to call that number again. As soon as I dialled it, the line wouldn’t connect, which struck me as rather odd. It feels a bit dodgy to receive a call on our home phone, especially since we've only shared our number with a handful of folks and are on the ex-directory list.

We’ve just received a call from what sounds like the same foreign chap claiming that we’ve downloaded something that’s affecting our computer. He said it would cause some serious issues. The bloke insisted we needed to switch our computer on, but we told him that my partner would handle it since it's part of her job to fix computers. He’s still adamant that he’ll ring back later to speak with my husband, but I reckon he won’t bother. This is the third or fourth time he’s tried to reach us in the last month.

Received a call from this number earlier today. A young lady said there was a problem with our computer. We told her to clear off and hung up the phone.

Same here, mate. Couldn't care less about returning the call. They even bothered to leave a message, but it sounds like a bunch of folks in an office just having a natter. Definitely one for the blocked numbers list!

Received a call from someone with a distinctly non-local accent, claiming to represent Windows. They insisted our computer had been compromised by a dodgy download, which raised a bit of alarm. We chose to remain calm and composed, though. That was the end of that chat!

We've never picked up when these callers try to reach us. The only way we’ve discovered it’s them is by using 1471. Unfortunately, they seem to ring us daily, and it’s quite bothersome to learn from the comments shared above that it’s clearly a nuisance call.

I recently received a call from this number, which was rather peculiar. After about five minutes of what sounded like background music, a voice with a foreign accent chimed in, claiming to be from Microsoft or one of their partners. They said there was a pressing issue with my computer. When I mentioned that if it were truly urgent, they should send a letter instead, I knew that I was done with that phone call.
