this was defo a scam. got a call claiming to be from “hmrc” and at the very end the robot voice said i’d be arrested soon. how on earth did they get hold of my phone number? really sketchy!

Reading through some of the other posts here, I’m pretty sure this is a con, with someone faking they’re from the inland revenue.

Got a robocall claiming to be HMRC about some fraud investigation, said to press 1 to speak to someone. Just hung up straight away, seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from some bloke named “Albert,” sounded Asian, claiming to be from Gladstone Brooks about a PPI claim that supposedly concerns me. I calmly told him that PPI claims ended back in August 2019, but instead of backing off, he started hurling insults at me. Proper rude behaviour - not on at all!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent, seemed pretty rude. He wanted to check if I was a certain person. When I asked who he was, he kinda snapped, "listen, are you or not?" and then just ended the call. Quite odd, honestly.

Got a call from someone with a Middle Eastern accent saying they were doing some kind of national survey and needed to ask me a few ‘quick’ questions. Sounded a bit off to me.

The number had an unfamiliar area code, so I just let it go to voicemail. If they didn’t bother leaving a message, it must not be urgent.

This number has rung me a few times today. When I picked up and asked who it was, they just dropped the call straight away. So I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

I got a call from 07801484512, bloke sounded Asian and said he was from some national survey. Told him straight away I wasn’t up for answering any questions. Funny thing is, I’ve had similar calls before, and even though I don’t actually take part in these surveys, I still end up getting all sorts of calls from different companies claiming they got my info from some survey I supposedly did. I haven’t done any of that at all!
