I found it strange since I wasn’t anywhere near Guernsey; I was actually down at Portland Bill in Dorset then, though I had no mobile signal there anyway.

Got a text supposedly from BT saying we’re using data in Guernsey and telling me to click on bt.com/goingabroad. Thing is, we’ve never even been to Guernsey! I looked at my usage on the BT app and it clearly shows we haven’t been overseas at all. Looks like 07800003902 is just some spam caller.

My phone didn’t ring at all, but I got a message pretending to be from BT, asking me to click a link (bt.com/goingabroard) - total scam. The message said I’d started using data in Spain and it’d come out of my plan’s allowance, warning that if I go over I’d be charged 10p per MB until the next billing cycle. It also told me to visit the same link for more info and other options. Do NOT tap on that link!
