There’s a scam going around that’s supposed to sound like it’s from Amazon tech support. The people behind it don’t realise that most folks are a lot more clued up now than they used to be. It’s not gonna fool many of us these days.

Cheers for all the comments, guys. I reckon my phone has somehow picked up on this being spam and now blocks it on its own, maybe 'cause of you lot sharing your thoughts.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with Amazon Bank, asking if I'd recently bought a smartphone from Amazon. I just said yes straight away, not in the mood for any arguing. She sounded a bit disappointed and then quickly hung up.

I got a call from 07793 257 000, claiming to be HMRC. The automated voice said “Press a number to talk to an officer,” but after I picked an option, nothing happened - just silence. Definitely a scam.

Here’s some info on how to use the system the police (NFIB) have put in place to help us all easily report scam calls, texts, emails, and other fraud attempts. I was actually told about it after raising concerns with my MP about the endless scam calls I was dealing with. It seems like scammers don’t want this info getting out there. If you never report these scams, don’t expect much to change. Sure, you can report to 7726, your phone company, Ofcom, or the businesses being impersonated, which can help somewhat, but often these reports don’t make it to the police for investigation.

I got a call saying there was some strange activity on my Mastercard for like £1200. Problem is, I don’t even own a Mastercard. They kept telling me to press one if I wanted more details or whatever. Definitely just a scam trying to pull a fast one!
