Got this weird voicemail that was pretty much just some mumbling, heavy breathing and noise in the back. I’d used Ringo to pay for parking the day before, so this threw me off a bit. Definitely a scam. The location code they gave me didn’t show up anywhere on the Ringo site. I’ve never signed up for RingGo, and there’s no need for it where I am. So be super cautious if you get any messages from this number. The fact they gave less than three hours before it supposedly expires was a big warning sign to me that this number is probably linked to scam calls or texts.

Received a text claiming to be from South East Water's messaging team about a problem with Canterbury's water supply. It said they'd send more info soon and if I wanted to stop getting messages, I should just reply STOP. The message came from 07786 203126. Bit suspicious, not sure if it’s legit.

I received a message claiming I owed a fine, complete with what appeared to be a nonsensical number plate - quite clearly a randomly concocted string of characters. The message insisted I needed to settle this fine, which is utterly baffling given that I don’t even have a car at all! Quite the dubious situation, wouldn't you say?

Got an email saying a car was parked in zone 27806 from 13:18 on Thu 16/02/23 till 13:18 on Wed 08/03/23 and that I owe £80.00 from myringgo.com ****. The date gave it away cos today’s only 1st March 23 so the car would still be there in a week’s time. I blocked the number and avoided clicking the link. Totally a scam!!

I bought a parking permit from MERTON PARKING (RINGO) and got a text from this number today. I read it and then blocked it, fingers crossed the payment went through properly and Merton hasn’t been hacked or anything.

Somebody phoned saying our parking payment was about to run out, but they gave a registration number that’s nothing like any of our cars. Then they told us to check a ‘gov.uk’ site or get an app. We’ve now had our phone company block the number.

I was meant to get a parcel, but the courier never actually tried to deliver anything. The link leads to what looks like a Royal Mail site but then asks for bank details and your birth date - definitely a con.

Got a text from this number claiming to be from Royal Mail saying I had a parcel waiting but needed to pay a £1.99 delivery charge. So, I took a look at my Ringo account, and lo and behold, there was an active parking session in London, despite my vehicle being a good 100 miles away from that place! It's baffling how they managed to obtain my number, reserve the parking spot, and somehow got Ringo to charge me for it. Quite concerning, really!

The issue comes from the SIM company reusing old, inactive phone numbers!!! The info on RINGO still connects that mobile number to a car registered under the prior owner of the SIM card. RINGO really has to change how they handle their data and update those links!

This is a legit firm that lets folks pay for parking using the RingGo app. I called 0203 046 0200 to check about a mistaken text message I got. I waited on hold for around a minute before speaking to someone. The chap was friendly and helpful. He mentioned it was likely a newly created account and promised to remove my number from their system, plus get in touch with the account owner using the email they provided. He said sorry for the mix-up and confirmed I hadn't been charged for parking.

Just got a text from myringgo[###] this morning at 8.30 about a £5 parking fee from 8.18 to 10 today. Bit strange coz I’m disabled and don’t even drive, so why would I get that? Woke me right up with it. Hope these phone scams don’t start spreading on mobiles now, they’re bad enough on landlines. Would love to know where they’re getting our numbers from, seems like the only way is if providers are sharing our info. Somebody please sort this out before it goes proper mad!

People here are a bit wrong, this isn’t some sort of scam. The number is actually from the 'Ringgo' app, which is how you pay for parking online. If you get a weird message, it’s probably because someone entered your number by mistake when setting up their account. You pay through your Ringgo account, not your phone bill. If you don’t have the car or use the app, you won’t be charged at all. Just ignore the message, no worries.

Looks like they’ve got my number mixed up with another person’s car details. When I reply to their texts, they just say things like “sorry, can’t park your car.” No way I’m paying to ring them back just to tell them they’re wrong - they’ll probably just ignore me anyway. Guess I’m stuck dealing with their annoying calls forever now.
