Got texted from different people and got a bit confused. I decided to ring the bank using the number on the back of my card. Lloyds checked everything out for me and made sure to cancel my cards straight away.

I got a text from 07786 200622 saying my credit card had been charged today and they wanted me to reply Yes or No to confirm if it was me. The initial message seemed quite legit, warning me to expect a second text. What really freaked me out was that they included my account number in the message and gave a sale amount that was very close to what I actually have on my card. I checked online and couldn’t find any such transaction, not even pending. Now I’m thinking I need to ring my card provider to sort this out.

Got a message from 07786200622 saying my credit card ending in #### was used on .date and time by someone called Brittany FERRIE for £###. Apparently, the payment got declined. It asked me to reply YES if it was me or NO if it wasnt. They said no need to ring, just reply to update my account quickly. I double checked with my bank and they confirmed the payment try was real and the text was genuinely from them.

Got a message from 07786 200622 pretending to be Lloyds Bank. They showed the last four digits of my credit card, the date, time, payee, and amount - all spot on, which was kinda creepy. The text said the payment was declined, which wasn’t true. Then it told me to reply YES if it was me or NO if it wasn’t, insisting replying was the fastest way to fix my account and no need to call. I looked up the number here and saw loads of others had reported it. Immediately marked it as spam and blocked the number.

This morning I got a text saying it was from Halifax, then a bit later another message from a different number, 07786200622, asking if I’d made a recent Amazon purchase. They wanted me to reply yes or no. Something felt off because the number wasn’t the usual one my bank uses, and the message wasn’t like the normal security alerts I get. So, I rang my bank using the number on my card straight away. They told me they hadn’t sent any texts and that the payment was actually a scam.

got a message from this number saying there was some activity on my lloyds bank account. they wanted me to reply yes or no or something like that. i didn’t reply and called my bank directly instead. funny thing is, halifax and lloyds never share a phone number so something fishy here. watch out folks!

This number’s legit. I got a message from Bank of Scotland (they’re connected to Halifax) saying there was a charge on my credit card I didn’t recognise. When I called the number on the back of my card, they told me about another transaction that happened just an hour before. They ended up cancelling both charges and issued me a new card. Don’t just brush it off, definitely ring your credit card company if you get something like this.

Received a text claiming to be from Halifax about a payment on my card. It said I’d get a message asking me to verify it was me who made the transaction. So I replied to the number to confirm. The tricky part is that this was about a legitimate payment that had been processed, so they've managed to snag some sensitive financial information.
