Got a call from a dodgy number claiming to be from Three Mobile. They somehow managed to get hold of my account info and bank details, and even sent verification texts to my phone. It only hit me something was wrong when the final code was for Google verification. They’d created an email account using my name and swapped it out in my provider app, which I still had open on my phone. Turns out they tried to buy a phone through my 3 account. Luckily, Three caught it and are now cracking down with a fraud investigation.

Ive been tricked by more than just Three, its not only them - ive had calls from O2, carphone warehouse and mobile.co.uk too. They got hold of all my info and even managed to change my email linked to Three. Honestly, this lot are a nightmare. Now, im getting nonstop calls about fraud on my account. Sure, there has been some dodgy stuff, but it aint Three. The number they use is fake, probably spoofed.

Just to add to what I said before - it wasn’t actually Three calling me, but some scammers!!! What really freaked me out was how much of my personal info they seemed to know already. Makes me wonder if there are dodgy people inside Three leaking customers’ details to fraudsters.

So this time it was Three calling me - they already had all my info, but claimed I was getting a discount and an upgrade. I told them three separate times I didn’t want a new phone, yet they went ahead anyway. To top it off, they changed the email linked to my account, probably to hide what they did! Honestly, feels like there are scammers working inside Three. I've reported it as fraud now.

This number called me claiming to be from 3, saying they’d send me a bag to return a phone they’d supposedly sent me by accident. They first rang yesterday promising to cut my phone bill in half and throw in a free Apple Watch. Then a phone turned up today, so I contacted the actual 3 and they said it’s definitely a scam. They warned that the fraudsters would ask me to send the phone back, but the charges would still go through. Total scam, watch out!

Some bloke rang saying he was with O2 about my internet. I asked what info he needed, and he wanted to know if I was with O2. I told him he had already said I was an O2 customer. Then he asked which internet plan I was on. I said surely he should have that info, but he insisted I tell him. I asked if he knew the account name, but he just ignored me and asked for my account details. I told him I wasn’t giving anything and I'd get in touch with O2 myself and report his dodgy number. Then I ended the call.

Got a call on my landline 01482 225252 from a woman speaking with a South Asian accent. She claimed to be from O2 and asked how much I pay, saying she could give me a better deal. Got a couple of texts from 3, one on 16 Aug 2022 at 2pm and another on 16 Sept 2022 at 12:18pm. The messages said: "From 3: Your spend limit is almost reached. To raise your limit, make a payment or get more info call 333 or +447782333333 if overseas." I’ve blocked the number now. I’m with 3 myself and dont have any spend limit, so this is a bit odd. No clue how to report this to 3 though.

I would strongly advise against using this company. They seem to have a knack for making things complicated, especially when it comes to cancelling contracts. Instead of allowing you to use your regular number to sort things out, they insist on their expensive 087 number, which feels quite underhanded. After notifying them to cancel our broadband, we ended up with a bill from BT a month or so later, which was rather unexpected. Our number is linked with a network that's been quite troublesome too.
