We recently encountered a rather peculiar situation where we mentioned our lack of time. There was a brief silence, and then we greeted the gentleman who seemed to be from abroad, to which he responded in kind. Despite our insistence that we were pressed for time, out of nowhere, there was this rather jarring sound-like a bell ringing. Suddenly, she started feigning distress, and we decided it was best to hang up. Quite the odd exchange, if you ask me!
