11 yearsReceived a call from this number today. When I picked up, the bloke claimed he was from Data Protection. I questioned him, pointing out that Data Protection isn’t a legitimate business. He insisted it was and boasted about being overseen by the Financial Conduct Authority, probing into my financial commitments. I fired back, asking how he could represent a so-called FCA-regulated company using a mobile phone. He dismissed my concerns, so I mentioned that I work for an actual FCA-regulated firm and asked him for his registration info. His attitude shifted to downright rude, prompting me to end the call. He called back and hurled some choice words at me. I’ve since blocked the number and reported it.Data ProtectionFinancial Conduct Authority11 yearsI received a rather dubious call today from someone claiming to be associated with a credit reference agency, inquiring about our so-called "debt" and how we intended to settle it. The problem? We don’t have any outstanding debts. When pressed for details regarding their company, the source of our personal information, and their identity, they suddenly went very mute. We decided to let them know that we have a Magistrate in our family, which prompted a swift apology from them before they hastily ended the call. I’ve already lodged a report with the relevant authorities as this clearly falls into the category of fraud. I strongly advise everyone not to divulge any personal information to such callers. When in doubt, threaten legal action, as they can indeed be traced. Remember, you can use 1471 to identify their number - which turns out to be a mobile phone. Stay vigilant!11 yearsReceived a call where the person claimed to be from Citizens Advice, insisting that I had some unresolved debt. I promptly told him to shove off!Citizens Advice11 yearsWhat a scam it was! I received a call from a bloke claiming to discuss my so-called debts, but the truth is, I’m completely debt-free. The moment I mentioned this fact, he abruptly ended the call. Classic dodgy behaviour, if you ask me!11 yearsI've been receiving several calls from this number, but every time I pick up, it just disconnects. If I try to return the call, it goes straight to voicemail. I swiftly told him to shove off.11 yearsReceived a call supposedly from the Debt Advice Bureau. The caller insisted on addressing me as "Mrs," which I found a bit off since I’m not wed. To top it off, they completely butchered my name, so I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up.Debt Advice Bureau11 yearsThis number has rung me several times, but it always cuts off as soon as I pick up. It’s rather frustrating, to say the least!11 yearsThey've attempted to call me a whopping eight times today, and not once did I pick up. Don't they understand the hint? 😡😡😡11 yearsI just received a call from this number, but they didn’t bother to leave a message. When I tried to return the call, I was met with a recording stating that I’d reached an invalid number. How peculiar!11 yearsI received a call today from someone who wanted to talk to me directly. When I inquired about who was on the line, he repeated my name back to me without clarification. He mentioned it was regarding some debt, but I have absolutely no debts at all. I told him I wasn’t interested in conversing and requested that he remove my information from his records. It’s worth mentioning he couldn’t even pronounce my name correctly! He then threatened to play a recording since I was unwilling to chat and claimed that legal action would be pursued against me. I decided to end the call at that point. The gentleman had a strong Indian accent (not intending any offence, just a descriptive observation). When I tried to return the call using a withheld number, I was immediately sent to voicemail, which turned out to be full. I'm now in the process of blocking this number. It’s clearly a scam, so please be cautious and don’t share any personal information. Utterly fraudulent!11 yearsJust received a rather peculiar call from someone asking for my name.
