Got a call from a mobile, then they hid their number on VIBER, and again on Whatsapp. Picked up to hear an Asian guy from CAB saying he was there to help me with some debt I supposedly owe - which I don’t. I just said “Nope, not happening” and hung up. Funny thing is, he never rang back after that.

Got loads of calls from private numbers saying they’re from the CAB. First call was all about offering help with my debts, but just got another one about 5 minutes ago threatening legal action over debts I don’t even have! All had Asian accents too. Are these dodgy call centres still running, trying to scam folks? Proper rubbish.

Got a call from 07845972114 claiming they were from some credit advice bureau. They said there’s new laws now where you can legally cancel 60% of your debts and they wanted to help with that. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent from 07974 508 438 saying something about owing money. I told him I didn’t owe anything and he just hung up straight away.

This number has called me a couple of times claiming there's some new government scheme to clear debts (sounds suspicious to me!). When I told them to take me off their calling list, they just cut me off. Properly rude behaviour.

Theyre not telling the truth, swapping between loads of different numbers. Trying to push you into some dodgy service you defo want to avoid. Cabs dont just ring people out of the blue. It’s like if the samaritans phoned up and said “heard you were gutted your team lost last weekend.” Honestly, best to just block em.

There’s a firm out there that’s attempting to reel in those struggling with debt, masquerading as the Citizens Advice Bureau. It’s quite shady and definitely not above board. - caller: Eric

I received a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with the Financial Conduct Authority, but I have my doubts about their legitimacy. In reality, they seem like nothing more than pesky debt collectors trying to hound me. I'd recommend blocking this number right away. - caller: Credit Investigation Department

Received a call earlier claiming to be some chap named Kevin, though I’m pretty sure he wasn’t. He started talking about some so-called unsecured debts supposedly linked to my name. I promptly informed him that I had no such debts and was not at all interested in the conversation. He rather abruptly ended the call after that. What a right set of crooks! Someone gave me a bell claiming to be from Citizens Advice, all insistent on chatting about a payment plan for my debts. I laid into them, and they had the audacity to hang up! Total scam, if you ask me. Best to steer clear or just block the number altogether - it’s 07777 609410, in case anyone’s wondering.

I just received a rather dodgy call from someone claiming they could assist with debts, mentioning that my information had been shared with them. I thought I'd have a bit of fun with the lass on the line, and she quickly became quite flustered. She kept pressing me about how much I owed, but I turned it around, saying I’d spill my beans once she let me in on hers. After a bit of back-and-forth, she insisted that I wouldn’t need to disclose any personal information and begged for just a couple of minutes to explain herself. After a good ten minutes of her getting nowhere fast, the line fell silent, and I presumed her supervisor stepped in. His very first inquiry? “How much debt do you owe?” I cheekily replied that was rather private, but we could have a bit of a guessing game. Not surprisingly, the call went dead right after that! Safe to say, that number is now firmly blocked! The caller identified themselves as being from the Credit Investigation Department.

They said they were ringing on behalf of the citizens advice bureau because apparently my creditors had passed on info about some debts I owed. When I told them I had no debts and that I handle my own bills just fine, she insisted my details were still with the office of fair trading. Once I mentioned I was on the telephone preference service, she just ended the call.

i just got a call from someone claiming to be with a credit checking firm, saying they had info that i owed money on some unsecured loans. when i asked for details, they started asking if i had credit cards and stuff. that felt off to me straight away. i told them i didn’t owe anything and asked how they got that info, then they just hung up on me!

Got a missed call from this number and when they rang back, I actually answered. The person said they were from the Citizens Advice Bureau, representing my creditors. I asked if they were trying to sell me something, and he insisted it was an official government service calling for my creditors. Then I asked why they were calling, and suddenly he just said “bye” and hung up. Feels like they're just testing which numbers are active to sell them on. Proper annoying.

I received a call from this number recently. It seems quite probable that a company has passed on their client information or something similar. How frustrating!

Received a call regarding outstanding debts, but we informed them that we have none at all. The chap on the other end abruptly hung up.

What a dodgy operation! When we pressed him about whether he was truly calling from Citizens Advice, he just hung up. The voice was odd too, sounded staged or as if he was putting on an accent. Very strange indeed!
