I picked up a call from someone saying they're with HMRC fraud prevention, telling me my National Insurance number was getting blocked and to press 1 to talk to an agent. I pressed one and an Asian guy came on the line asking for my details. When I asked why my NI number was being suspended, he just hung up. Tried calling back and got a message from GiffGaff’s answerphone. Pretty sure HMRC don’t use GiffGaff for calls, so this felt really dodgy to me.
