I just let the phone ring and then switched it off after a bit. If I don’t recognise the number, I won’t pick up. I also tell them I don’t handle anything over the phone. Since they’ve got my number, they can get my address too, so they should send me a letter instead. So far, this seems to work fine as I’ve never heard back from this number or any other trying the same kind of scam.

A nice bloke named David Daniels rang me from LCD in India. He promised to cut my debts by £3000 for an £85 fee - sounded too good to miss. After he got me signed up, I paid the £85 plus a £350 admin charge and another £32 for the transfer. Now I just need to wait for his mate to visit and then it’s sorted. Lots of bad reviews here but honestly, he seemed like a genuine guy.

Got a call from some 'finance advice bureau' claiming the Government says I owe over £3000! The bloke refused to answer my questions and kept insisting it was just £85. When I told him I’ve never had any debt, he got annoyed and said I’d already admitted it! I warned him my calls were recorded and he just hung up on me. This is the same person I spoke to last week who said his name was Trey. He wanted all my personal info but wouldn’t share any of his! Sounds like an Indian guy trying out a fake American accent from some call centre. Watch out for this number!

Got a call from this number by a woman with a British accent who started on about a supposedly 'free' survey for our windows as part of some govt 'energy saving' programme. She was quite pushy wanting to set up a appointment when me and my missus were both in. She never mentioned any company or gave proper info - and no idea why she was ringing from a mobile either. Feels like a trick to get a double glazing rep round for a hard sell.

Somebody rang me up claiming to be about a legal claim for noisy workplaces. I told them straight away I had never worked in that kind of place and had no claim. They apologised politely and ended the call. Honestly, that was the most civil call I’ve had from those types ever.

Melvin’s in for a serious backlash. I know some folks in telecom and I’ve already pinged them to see if they can dig up any clues. If they manage to find even a vague idea of where this number’s coming from, I have plenty of contacts spread out in various places. Some of these people are pretty shady, but trust me, they hate seeing their parents getting ripped off just like anyone else. Melvin and the others should be wary now, maybe watch their backs and keep a closer watch on their stuff.

Got a call from an Indian guy claiming he was from the CAB. He mentioned some bank had shared my info alleging I owe unsecured debts. When I asked which bank, he said he had no clue. I questioned why he was calling from a mobile number, and he just said that's what shows up. I requested his address and it took him ages, like a full minute, to reply. Then he asked for my date of birth, and I told him I never give personal info on the phone. He ended the call straight away!

Got a call claiming to be from Citizens Advice but it was some Asian bloke just making stuff up. Definitely wasn’t from CAB. Blocked the number straight away.

This number popped up on my caller ID but when I tried ringing it back, the voicemail said the number’s not in service or unknown. Looked it up here and decided to block it straight away.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying he was from the citizens advice bureau about some unsecured loans. I told him to shove off and then blocked his number.

Got a call from this bloke with an Indian accent, saying I owed money for something I supposedly sent. He kept calling me "white white," which was really strange. Just a heads up, watch out if this number rings you!

This number showed up with a missed call, but it only rang a few times before stopping. When I tried calling it back to see who it was, I just got the standard BT message saying something like "the number you dialled isn't recognised." So, I decided to block it straight away.

Someone rang saying they were from Credit Investigations, I didn’t hang about and told them to jog on before slamming the phone down.

I got a call from some Asian bloke who didn’t give his name but claimed to be a case manager from the CAB. He asked straight up for me and started talking about some debt payments, which I had no clue about. I just told him to frankly piss off, and luckily, he did.

Got a call from some bloke, sounded Asian, claiming he was from CAB and talking about a debt I supposedly owed. I told him I didn’t have any debt at all, so he got all moody. I just told him to jog on. They rang once more today but I just ignored it.

Got a call from a blocked number today. I’ve already reported it to 87726. You should really let your phone company know about suspicious numbers too, so they can stop them fast.

Back in January 2018, I got a call from someone who said they were from Citizens Advice Bureau about some unsecured debts. The bloke sounded African, which seemed a bit off. I ended up just hanging up and then I reported both the number and what happened to Citizens Advice.

This number keeps ringing and dropping the call. I looked it up and loads of people say the same stuff about it. When I called back on a hiddden number, it says the number doesn’t exist. Definite scam alert. P#st, SCAM, PONDS#cm, better AVOID, just BLOCK or REPORT to IOC.

Some bloke rang me, said his name was Melvin with an Asian accent. He reckoned he got my info from the CAB or something like that. He was going on about me having a debt with interest, which I had no clue about. When I told him I wasn’t paying anything back, he just ended the call straight away. I’ve blocked the number now.
