I told them to take me off their list but they just kept saying no, no, no, then they hung up on me. I had to block the number after that.

When I picked up the phone, a pre-recorded voice said my national insurance number had been frozen because it was being misused. It warned me if I didn’t respond, they'd take my belongings and I might get arrested. I’m a 70-year-old woman with disabilities, and even though I’m usually quite wary and can spot a dodgy call a mile off, this one still made me nervous.
