Somebody rang me claiming to be my kid saying they’d dropped their phone in the loo and needed cash. Thing is, I don’t have any kids at all. Definitely a scam, so I just blocked the number.

I got a text from someone pretending to be our son, but the way it was written didn’t sound like him at all. I asked one of his mates, and he said our son hadn’t lost his phone or anything. Pretty clear this was a scam trying to trick us.

I got a message from a number claiming to be my brother, but it was really dodgy. They told my dad they’d just bought a phone from a mate and needed money to pay him back. It felt really off and kinda creepy, like something wasn’t right.

Just got a text saying, "Hey Dad, I’m using a mate’s phone coz I broke mine and their battery’s about to die. Can you WhatsApp me at this new number 07743454810?" It definitely wasn’t from my kids. Not sure how dodgy it might be, but seems pretty fishy to me.
