Had a call from a number I didn’t recognise at all.

I picked up the phone and some woman started saying nonsense, then she just cut me off. When I tried ringing back, a bloke answered but said something I didn’t quite get before ending the call. Definitely a scam, not worth your time answering.

Absolute con artists, these tospots pretending to be PayPal! Never ever share your info with them. They don’t ask for your bank details, just your card info and then that 4 digit code like the one from Vanquis. Honestly, don’t trust any of them on the phone. Heads up, if they speak with an Indian accent - be super careful!

Some fella named Allen Grace rang me, sounded like he was from India or Pakistan. He was trying to scam me out of £2013 through PayPal. Wanted all my details and stuff. Then he called again from a mobile, saying it was still PayPal. Luckily I managed to get my credit card cancelled and taken off. Total scammers. Beware of these numbers: 08000739201 and 07727717654. Proper dodgy.

I got a call from someone saying they were from PayPal, and since I’ve been dealing with a case with them, I believed it was legit and that they were helping with my refund. Turns out, they were trying to drain my bank account, but thankfully my bank caught it in time. Then, unbelievably, they called me again the very next day to have another go!

I got caught out by a fake PayPal site after Googling something, they asked me to verify a code they supposedly sent to me, then tried to swipe cash from my bank. Thankfully, my bank spotted it in time and blocked it. Man, I feel daft for falling for it. Learned my lesson the hard way: don’t trust any number you don’t know. Also, the fraud squad warns against using Google voice search for stuff like that.

Avoid this number, total scam. Was trying to find PayPal’s helpline and got a Google ad that showed a suspicious phone number. When I called, they immediately asked for my debit card info then tried to get my PayPal reset code. Lucky I caught on quick, changed all my passwords and told my bank and the police about it. Proper nasty trick.

Definitely a scammer pretending to be from PayPal! They claimed AMEX was having issues and wanted my new bank and credit card info. The caller had a strong Indian or Pakistani accent and spoke really broken English. To top it off, they even rang me back asking for feedback. Absolutely dodgy!

Someone rang up saying they needed to sort out problems with my PayPal. Since I did have some trouble a few days earlier, I nearly gave them my info. That number just rang me up claiming to be from PayPal. The guy said his name was Ryan Wilson and asked for my bank details to deposit £9000. Apparently, my PayPal was hacked back in 2011 and they took £26,000 from me. I’ve reported all this to the ombudsman who’s looking into my issue. Watch out everyone, these scammers are everywhere!

Loads of PayPal scams going about, and this one’s definitely one of ‘em. You should always report these dodgy numbers. Just search for 'action fraud' on Google, head over to the 'police.uk' website, hit the 'reporting' tab, then pick the phishing option. Scroll all the way down to the end and you’ll find where to file the report for this scam. Take care out there, everyone!

Got a phone call from this number, some lady with an Indian accent who sounded like she was calling from a call centre. She asked me if I was having problems with my PayPal account, mentioned some kind of dispute I supposedly had. Then she wanted my email address, which I found a bit dodgy since PayPal would already have that info. I said no thanks. Feeling lucky I was alert on a Saturday morning.

Someone rang me saying they were from PayPay, and since I’d recently had some trouble with my account, I thought it was legit. They asked if I could share a code from my phone to fix the issue. Got a call today and two the day before, with someone claiming they were from PayPal. Started asking loads of questions so I just ended the call. Pretty sure it’s just some spammy scam. What annoyed me was I’d actually got in touch with PayPal recently so for a moment I thought it was a proper callback - only to remember they don’t even have my new number!
