My husband got a text from 07724588565 pretending to be their daughter's new number because she supposedly lost her phone. The message said she’d accidentally locked her banking app and asked if he could pay a bill straight away, promising to pay him back the next day. It even included a name, Shona Hilde, a sort code 11-05-86, account number 12117565, and asked for £1,220.50 with the reference PAY1220. When he called it out as a scam, they started sending rude messages back.

Got a text saying, "Dad, tell me if you got this x," which struck me as dodgy. They said it was my daughter but walked off when I tried calling back. Then a different number messaged me about O2 payments not going through. When I asked who it was, there was no reply. Pretty sure it’s a scam.
