I received a message from someone inquiring about a product I had listed for sale. They requested that I contact them via WhatsApp, which strikes me as rather odd. I'm beginning to suspect that this might be a scam.

He claims to be called Cormac Spencer and insists he's hailing from Durness, Scotland. A quick look-up of his name and location reveals that neither seems to exist. He’s interested in purchasing some furniture I posted on Facebook and mentioned he’d use PayPal for payment. However, our first exchange was via a text message from the mobile number +44 7903 595600. He also suggested I reach out to him via WhatsApp at a number that ends with 046, which feels rather off to me. Oddly enough, he hasn't returned my calls when I’ve asked him to. I can’t shake the feeling that this could be a dodge to obtain the goods without actually completing the payment.
