I received a text message at precisely 12:29 on the 2nd of July, 2009, and it's eerily similar to others I’ve heard of. The message stated: "Our records suggest you could be eligible for £5,000 in compensation regarding an accident you purportedly experienced. To claim, simply reply with AID to this message. To opt out, text STOP." Honestly, it sounds dodgy to me, and I refuse to engage with it. Thankfully, we haven't encountered any sort of "accident" that would warrant such a claim, *touch wood*!

I received a text notifying us that we might be eligible to claim up to £5,000 for the accident we were involved in. The thing is, we’ve never had any accidents before, so I can’t help but wonder if this is perhaps a mistake?

What’s the process for tracking down who's making the call? It seems we can easily pinpoint the owner of a website, a business proprietor, and even a landline number. So, what’s the hold-up with mobiles?

Absolutely agree! We should track down their addresses and give them a good talking to, maybe even a bit of a lesson. After all, it seems they’re keen on claiming for their own mishaps!
