I think those reviews were meant for a different phone number, not this one. From what I can tell, this is a completely trustworthy and legit company.

I got a call about my PayPal account supposedly being out of date and that I needed to update it. Sounded fishy to me - I figured PayPal would handle their own updates, so I didn’t trust it at all. Could be one of those phishing scams trying to get your info.
