I picked up and just said hello a couple of times but no one said anything back. After a bit, I heard some automated voice say goodbye. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Somebody saying they were from BT called me. I asked if it was really them, and they said yes. Then they went on about some router issues and said an engineer would get in touch to pick it up. When I told them that wasn’t happening, they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were from my internet company. I asked them which provider they worked for and they said Virgin Media, claiming they were ringing from the London head office about some issue with my wifi box. I told them I'd get in touch with the head office myself to check and then ended the call. It didn’t feel right since they called my personal mobile but the Virgin account is actually in my husband’s name. Definitely doesn’t seem like a genuine Virgin Media call.

got a call claiming to be from virgin media, i let it ring silent for like 90 seconds and they just hung up! then they rang again but i just ignored it this time, and no voicemail or anything - so yeah, blocked them straight away.

I played along with him, acted like I was doing everything he told me, and ended up wasting around 5 minutes of his miserable time. At the end, he asked me what message I typed into the comment box. I wrote: "why not get a proper job instead of scamming people?" That didn’t go down well at all. He started throwing all sorts of insults at me. Quite the laugh, really.

They said they were from Virgin. First time they called was about issues with my broadband, then on a second call, they asked for my details.

got a call on my personal phone from someone claiming to be from hmrc saying i had a warrant for arrest!! they used a cellphone number and even left me a voicemail.

Got a voicemail from some robot voice claiming there's a warrant for my arrest, totally fake. Just hang up and block the number.

Got a call supposedly from Virgin Media, and they already knew my name and where I live. They asked me to run some kind of router test on my laptop and follow their steps. Before doing anything, I asked for a Virgin Media contact number to ring back and verify if it was legit. They kept pushing that there was an urgent issue that needed fixing immediately. After I kept questioning them, they just ended the call.

Somebody rang claiming to be from HMRC, saying there was an arrest warrant sent to the police for me. They knew my postcode and asked for my birthday, then pushed for my national insurance number. I didn’t give it to them because I wanted some kind of evidence it was real, but then they just ended the call.
