I received a rather alarming message claiming that I was under surveillance and had potentially been in contact with someone infected with Omicron. I ventured onto the website they provided, which promptly demanded £1.28 for a Covid PCR testing kit and requested my credit card information. It dawned on me far too late that I'd fallen into a scam. I contacted my bank immediately, had my credit card cancelled, and they're in the process of sending me a replacement. Thankfully, no funds were withdrawn from my account, but they've obtained all my details which could lead to card fraud in the future, hence the need to cancel the card. The entire setup appeared genuine, even sporting the NHS logo. As the saying goes, there's no greater fool than an older one.

If you don't make an effort, then don’t be surprised if the problem carries on. Utterly fraudulent: Just received a message claiming I’ve been in touch with someone who tested positive for Omicron. They insist I must order a testing kit from this dodgy link: https://pcr-track-trace.com. Total scam!

Someone rang saying they were from Track and Trace, but that can't be right as that service ended ages ago. The message was pretty sloppy, mentioning Omicron instead of Covid-19. Felt like a total scam to me.
