Some bloke from India rang. Asked to speak to me, I asked who it was. Then he said “is this first last name?” I told him again, who’s calling? No reply, so I just hung up! Won’t pick up now, blocked him.

Got a call from an Indian guy who actually knew my name and asked about my day before telling me I had some kind of 'unpaid debt'. I told him I didn’t owe anything, and he just said 'oh, sorry' and hung up. I didn’t bother asking who he was or his company, but from what others are mentioning, I reckon he was faking working for the Citizens Advice Bureau. Bit strange, really.

Got a call from a guy called Jordan, said he was from CAB and mentioned my name was on some debt list. Told him it was a scam and to buzz off, and he shot back with a cheerful “You go away, f. . off, f. off.” I just ended the call. Might just pass their number on to the next dodgy caller I get and let them sort it out themselves!

Got a call from an Indian guy who said he was trying to reach me. When I asked what it was about, he mentioned some unpaid debt. I told him I don't owe anything, and as soon as I pressed him on it, he just hung up. I blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the CAB earlier. Told him that was quite the coincidence since I work there too, and as far as I know, we don’t do calls or have any debt lists. He just told me to buzz off and then cut the call.

Had a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from the Citizen's Advice Bureau, telling me I was on their debt list. I'd heard about these scams before, so I quickly asked “Who exactly are you? The CAB don’t do calls like this.” She hesitated and seemed caught off guard, then shouted “Who are you?” After a long pause, I just ended the call. That was about 4 days back - wonder if they’ll try ringing again!

as soon as i picked up they hung up. best trick ive found is to sign up on a bunch of free competition sites and put THESE numbers down as your contact. prob wont win anything but at least those annoying calls get spread out.

Glad I read these reviews before calling back. I’m currently sorting my finances with Citizens Advice since I’ve just started living on my own after my ex moved out. Honestly, when my phone said “Reported As Debt Management” I thought they’d passed my info to a debt advice team. I’m not in debt but I have been checking with Citizens Advice to make sure I stay on top of things. Citizens Advice almost got a piece of my mind as well! If this number had called me a few months ago, the stress might have made me do something daft!

A guy rang me about my so-called unsecured debts. I told him to take me off his call list and he asked, "why's that?" I said I don't do sales calls. Then he tried convincing me he could clear all my debt for free - so apparently not a sales call. I told him it’s cold calling and if he didn’t remove me, I’d report them. He then muttered "what company? Go on, go on" in a low tone like he was daring me. I told him exactly where to shove it and now I’m going to report it.

Best to avoid anyone who calls, texts or emails you out of the blue. Never hand over your bank info to them. If you’re suspicious, just contact your bank or card provider yourself, directly!

Received a call from this number earlier today, an Indian guy was on the line acting like he already knew me. Strange thing is, he actually knew my name. When I asked who he was, he said he was from the Citizens Advice Bureau and claimed he’d been told I had unpaid debts or loans. I told him straight up that I don’t owe anything, and all he said was "oh, alright" before I ended the call. Hope no one else gets caught out by this dodgy scam.

I’d say to people, don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers unless they send you a text first. And even then, only reply if the text actually seems worth your time.

They said they were from Credit Services Investigations, but when I looked them up, the FCA site said they’re not authorised and working outside the rules. I told them straight up I never agreed to them using my info under data protection laws and to erase everything they had on me, then I ended the call. Now I’m expecting they might ring again from another number!

Got a call from a young sounding Indian woman, who was pretty quite when she started. She claimed I owed money and when I asked where her number came from, she said it was a computer generated one, not a mobile, and that they did it to keep themselves safe. When I called her out on how dodgy it was to scam folks, she told me to f#ck off and hung up. Usually my phone checks numbers, and this one showed up as safe on the screen.

Picked up the phone, was a man with a thick Indian accent calling me by my first name. When I asked 'Hello, can I ask who's this and which company you’re from?' he just went quiet and ended the call.
