My landline rang and the person on the other end already knew my address. They started going on about cavity wall insulation and cold bricking. When I told the man I wasn’t interested, he got rude and started threatening me. I hung up and blocked the number straight away. Definitely a scam.

Similar to what others have mentioned, someone rang me saying they were from the County Conservation Team and that my installer was bankrupt. When I asked for the installer’s name, they couldn’t give me one. After hearing a bit more of their spiel, I ended the call nicely.

I got a call from someone saying they were ringing about issues with my loft insulation and that they wanted to take it out. The first person told me they worked for "The County Conservation House," but seemed a bit lost when I started asking for their registration details and proof of insurance. Then he put me through to someone who said he was the manager and that the firm was called "The Wall and Loft Survey Company." When I started asking more questions, he simply ended the call.
