they're trying to scam folks who've just been in accidents lately. they know just enough info and use fancy words to sound real. my insurance told me to steer clear and not talk to them. plus, if you ring them back, it just goes straight to giffgaff voicemail!

why on earth would a legit company ring from a giffgaff number?? ive had loads of calls from them but no messages left, i accidentally picked up once when not paying attention and all i caught was something about accident management or something. blocked the number right away but they keep trying. if they really have my info, why no email or letter? totally dodge answering this one. also FYI it’s called a “collision” not an accident, so if you hear that, be suspicious straight away!

I got a call about a road traffic accident, claiming I had to update some legal stuff with the motor insurance bureau. They even mentioned the exact date of an accident I was involved in, which means somehow they’ve got hold of my info. When I asked for the caller’s name and a number to ring back, they sounded annoyed and hung up. Obviously, the number they gave just rings out and ends in voicemail if you try calling it.

I got a phone call the other day from someone speaking with what sounded like a regional UK accent. They said they were from some sort of accident investigation office and wanted details about a recent car crash. It honestly took me by surprise. I’m quite suspicious this might be a scam, but I’m not exactly sure how or where to report this kind of thing. Really unsure what to do now.

I tried calling what said it was a road accident helpline, but there was no ID check or security questions at all. They didn’t give me any details about who they were or anything else. Seemed really dodgy, honestly.

Got a call from 07593798234 claiming to be the ‘accident management helpline’, the bloke had a strong Liverpool accent. Said it was about a recent traffic accident but wouldn’t explain what for, just kept saying they needed to ‘close the file’. I asked for proof of who they were, like something in writing or an email, and he got really cheeky, talking over me and saying he’d ‘make me see’ the reason for the call. Didn’t give a name or office address either. Felt very off.
