I got a text saying there had been some activity on my MBNA credit card and to contact the fraud team straight away. Trouble is, I don’t even own an MBNA card. I called the number they provided, and the person on the other end asked if I’d made a purchase using my MBNA card today. When I asked for more details about the card number, they gave me the last four digits - which were clearly not mine. Then, when I explained I was calling from a different phone than the one that received the message, they just hung up. Pretty sure it was a phishing attempt, so I’ve blocked the number now.
