Got called twice by this number earlier today. I missed the name of the company they said. Foolishly picked up the second time, and some guy with an accent I couldn’t place had my name. He was really pushy, kept speaking over me, so I just ended the call. Honestly, I’d say don’t bother answering if you get a ring from them!

I had my phone set to do not disturb, but when I tried calling back the number it just gave me a dial tone. Seems like it might be one of those scam calls from overseas, not anywhere near the UK.

I got a call from a woman claiming I had some PPI refund due and that they needed to verify a few things to sort out the payment. I played along for a bit since she already had my name, address, and postcode. Then she started asking which bank I used, so I fibbed about that. Next, she wanted my sort code, but I told her I wasn’t giving out any bank details, and she just ended the call. Felt dodgy to me, definitely not on the level.
