they rang me two times saying they were from a debt collector but ive got no debts so i just ended the call straight away

They call every single day and I have no clue how to stop the calls.

This bloke claimed he was from some government department and said I had just 2 months to pay off my credit card, or Lloyd's bank would want all the money at once. I ended the call, but he phoned back and went on about how I’d just hung up on an official. I called the bank straight away and they told me it was a total con!

Some bloke with a thick Indian accent rang me, claiming to be from Citizens Advice. He said they were told I have some unsecured debts. I asked him how they came by that info. He said it was from their credit department. I then asked where that credit department got the info. He quickly switched the topic and I asked why the number showed as a mobile one. He insisted he wasn’t calling from a mobile. I told him I don’t have any unsecured debts at all.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong accent saying he was from some Financial Investigations dept. He started quizzing me about my credit and store cards, wanting to know the balances. When I wouldn't answer, he kept pushing, asking 'what’s there to be scared of?' and 'why aren’t you telling me?' Ended up just hanging up on him!

I’m a staff member at Citizens Advice and these lot rang me claiming to be from the advice bureau. I let the bloke go on for a bit about some plan that’s supposed to be like a ‘government rebate’ or something. Then I told him I actually work as a Money Adviser at CAB and when he’s had a bit of proper training and actually understands what he’s talking about, he can ring me back haha.

Dont trust this number at all, they’ve called me twice already and its just pure hassle. Please block it asap before they bother you more. Honestly one of the dodgiest scammers ive come across. They said some job title as their company name then started talking about debts i supposedly owe to banks and shops, clearly just reading off a script cause none of those banks were mine and some of those shops dont even do credit! Felt like a sneaky attempt to get my personal info. So stupid, can’t believe they even used a mobile number - stay careful everyone :)

When I asked, he said he was a case worker there and started going on about some new legal stuff about unsecured debts. I said, “So you’re not really from Citizens Advice then?” He got all mad and shouted back, “Yes I am, so stop acting like a d*ck,” and then just ended the call. Yeah right, sure you are, mate!

But as soon as i told him i’m not in any debt, he just ended the call. Watch out everyone, this could trick vulnerable folk!
