Got a call from this number, tel:+04474988003, claiming to be HSBC. They told me my new payee registration went through and that I could now log in and start using the account. Seemed a bit off to me.

Just got a call from this number but there was no message left on my voicemail. Anyone else get calls from it? Is it some kind of scam or just junk? Wondering if I should block it or not. What do you lot reckon?

I tried calling back a few times but the number always just fails to connect. Definitely some kind of spam!

Got a message earlier today from someone calling herself Emma, saying she'd been hurt and was in hospital and asking for a £20 EE top-up. Thing is, I know just one Emma and that number definitely isn’t hers. I replied asking for some personal info that only the real Emma would know, saying if it was legit I'd happily get the voucher. Obviously, I haven’t heard back yet, and my mate's said she’s totally fine - no hospital, no fall.

Got a text saying DVLA SWANSEA FINAL REMINDER, that I’m due £48.84 back from overpaying my road tax. It said to claim my refund through some link with [#]dvlaroadtaxrefunds[###]. Feels a bit dodgy, has anyone else had this?

Someone pretending to be Emma texted me saying she'd fallen and was in hospital, asking for a favour. Turns out it was a scam. They got me to buy EE phone credit and send them the voucher code. Be careful!

Got a text from Sarah on 07549889903. Sounds like she’s had another rough patch - mentioned she fell again and is back in hospital. Bit of a clumsier day for her, poor thing.

Can't help but wonder why this number and the info about the call haven’t been handed over to Action Fraud yet? Their site for reporting phishing scams is where these things should go. I mean, you’d have to be quite gullible or in a tough spot to fall for this rubbish, but these con artists really need to be put in check. Sadly, the police won’t act unless every dodgy call, text, or email is properly reported through their fraud reporting page.

Got a text from someone called Emma saying she’d had a fall and was in hospital, asking if I could do her a small favour and text her back. Thought it was just a wrong number at first, but after having a look on this website, it looks like it’s a bit of a scam.

Well, I got a message like loads of others here. It said something like "It's Emma. Tried calling but no signal. I've been rushed to hospital after a fall tonight. Can you do me a quick favour and text me back?" I quickly checked with my actual friend Emma, who was perfectly fine, then looked up the number on Google. Turns out it was a scam!

I got a call from someone claiming to be Emma, my neighbour next door, saying they'd topped up £20 on Vodafone. Turns out it was a scam. I only found out after checking with the real Emma. Dodgy!

Had a run in with this number earlier today. Someone claiming to be Emma in hospital said she needed credit for EE. I sent some money, then they came back asking for another top-up because the first £15 was supposedly spent. That made me uneasy, so I asked which Emma it was since I know a couple. They said Emma T. I know an Emma T but asked for her full surname to be sure. No answer after that. Dodgy lot! Ended up losing £21.49.

Totally a scam. I replied with "why would someone with a fractured wrist even bother using a phone?" Don't get caught up in this silly but sneaky trick.

Total rip off! My partner received a message like the one above, mistook it for our mate Sarah, and ended up buying an O2 voucher for her. Then, they had the nerve to claim some of the credit was used up with charges and asked for another £20! Annoying as hell. He’s blocked their number now.

I've received a barrage of messages from someone claiming to be stuck in hospital and in desperate need of a phone top-up. They keep insisting their name is Sarah. Naturally, I reached out to all the Sarahs I’m acquainted with, and none of them are connected to this conundrum. I've made it absolutely clear that they've dialled the wrong number, yet they persistently argue otherwise while failing to provide any specifics about how we might be connected. It screams scam to me!

So this number's been calling my son and sister, pretending to be me. They said I’d been taken to hospital in an emergency. Then they tried to scrounge £20 from my sister, claiming I really needed the cash. When I tried ringing or messaging back, there was nothing - no reply at all. Proper scammer stuff.

Please text me back when you get this x" My phone even suggested it was someone I knew, which is weird cause I don't know any Sarah like that... So I just ignored it and didn't reply.
