Got a text from 07539720763 saying my monthly bill with Virgin Media hadn’t gone through. It had a link to click on which seemed a bit dodgy to me. Virgin Media usually don’t send texts from a number like this, they never use mobile numbers for these sorts of things. Plus, the link wasn’t the official Virgin website at all. If you get a message like this from Virgin Media, make sure you double check before clicking anything. Could easily be a scam.

Got a text on my phone on 25/9/20 from this number pretending to be Virgin. The message said something like: "We couldn't process your recent bill this month. To stop extra charges, update your info here: virgin-payment[###]". Totally a scam. Don’t tap the link! Real texts from Virgin show “Virgin Media” as the sender name, not a phone number.
