Got a lengthy text that was pretty hard to follow. It kicked off saying something like ‘Anyone asking for an OTP is definitely a scam, even if they claim they're from Santander.’ I was trying to confirm a card charge for Just Eat and was told to ring 0800 085 0986. Then they said they’d send further messages from 07537 431 300. Honestly, it felt really dodgy and looks like a total con.

Santander has confirmed that the number (+44)07537431300 is, without a doubt, a scam. Furthermore, the number 08082802596 is also a fraudulent attempt, as I've received messages suggesting unauthorised transactions from my bank account(s).

Received a call purportedly from Santander, requesting that I input a three-digit code. Seemed quite suspicious to me!

Beware of this dubious outfit calling itself Shoptora! I clicked on one of their adverts and somehow ended up on a site named Shopora. After making a purchase, I received a rather suspicious text from an alleged “bank” regarding the transaction. They instructed me to ring them on 08082801101, providing a PIN code, claiming it’s a fraud alert and they can only halt the payment after having a chat with me. Currently, they’re pretending to be from the Santander fraud department. It’s all rather fishy, so do steer clear!
