Received a message supposedly from the Fraud Dept. I called Barclaycard using the number on my card and they confirmed there’s no suspicious activity. They advised me to just ignore it and not reply to any further messages.

Banks will never contact you via text message, email, or phone asking for your account numbers, passwords, or PIN numbers. However, they may send texts to verify payments that have been made. Please don't believe those who claim these verification texts are scams. They are completely legitimate and will never request any confidential information.

I have been receiving deceitful text messages from this particular number, requesting my personal information. These texts falsely claim to be from the fraud department of Barclaycard.

I am quite certain that this number belongs to Barclaycard. I had just returned from my holiday and encountered a situation where my card was declined at the departing airport. As soon as I turned on my phone, it immediately rang. However, it turned out to be a recorded message. I quickly ended the call because I believe that if someone wants to speak with me, a real person should do so instead. Shortly after that, I received two calls from 0800 161 5338, but I chose not to answer them. Then, a text arrived from Barclaycard on the same number 413147, inquiring whether I was the individual trying to use the card. They requested that I reply with a 'Y' if it was me or call them if it wasn't. I promptly replied with a 'Y'. In response, they sent me a thank you text.
Now, here's my question: why didn't they send that text initially? It would have been convenient and swift for me to respond, and I wouldn't have been left wondering whether it was a case of spam or scam!

When I personally reached out to the number, they insisted that they were from Barclaycard. However, I had already alerted Barclaycard about the situation, and they hung up immediately upon hearing this. Please exercise caution and refrain from sharing any personal information with these fraudulent individuals.

I never got a Barclaycard, plus the number they used is brand new just a couple weeks old and I've never shared it with anyone. All the charges were strange - froogol[###], zestify.tv, Museum Select. [#][#]barclays[###]/telephone-number-checker doesn't even list it as a valid Barclaycard number.

Definitely a scam. It says it’s Barclaycard but I’ve never opened an account with them.

Got a call saying I owe Spotify £416.37, but I don't even have an account with them, nor do I have a Barclaycard.

They said they were from Barclays card fraud team but it’s a complete con.

I have received two texts from this number claiming to be from the credit card fraud department. After calling my credit card company, they informed me that they have no knowledge of such messages. So, be cautious and vigilant.

However, upon calling that number, I heard a message stating, "Hello, this is the fraud prevention department of Barclaycard. We have noticed some activity on your card and would like to safeguard you against potential fraud." This made me question how they could identify the caller. To confirm the accuracy of my payment record, I was instructed to respond with "Y" and provide my date of birth to the following number: 447537413147. I obliged, assuming it was indeed the Barclaycard department. However, now I am unsure and would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter. Thank you.

I’m pretty sure Barclaycard rang me from this number, but on here it says it belongs to ‘Kim’ and mentions a freephone Kim contact. I then received a voicemail with some similar numbers. Totally suspicious! I’m sticking to the verified numbers only.

A text has been received from 08453561060 claiming to be conducting Fraud checks on your Barclaycard and stating that you will receive a text from a different number (07) requesting your Date of Birth to be sent back. It is important not to respond to this request.
Please note that the 0845 number is distinct from the one mentioned on this website. Additionally, they have been persistently calling both your landline and mobile from the 0845 number, and they seem to be aware of your name.
As someone who has received numerous calls from Fraud squads in various banks over the years, I can assure you that their methods are nothing like this scam.
Contrary to a message on this forum, those numbers are not affiliated with Barclays in any way. The scammer, most likely a young individual with a Northern accent, is spreading false information.
