Received a message supposedly from the Fraud Dept. I called Barclaycard using the number on my card and they confirmed there’s no suspicious activity. They advised me to just ignore it and not reply to any further messages.

Legit banks will never ring, message or email asking for your PIN, password or account details. They might send a text just to make sure you authorized a payment that’s gone through though. Don’t listen to those clowns saying these texts are fake scams. They’re absolutely real and they never request personal info like that.

It was supposedly the Barclaycard fraud team calling! I mean, how on earth would random scammers know the exact details of your purchases - like when, where and how much you spent? Plus, if all you’re doing is replying ‘Y’ to their messages, how could they possibly trick you? It just doesn’t add up at all.

Just got a message saying there was some unusual activity on my Barclaycard with 3 charges today adding up to more than £2,000. I decided to call Barclaycard using the number on my card to check, and it really WAS from them! Turns out my card had been hacked for exactly those amounts. A lovely woman called Rhian handled everything really well and was super helpful 🙂

This number sent me a message earlier. I used the Barclays phone finder on their site, which said it’s a legit number from them. I rang the Barclaycard number on my card and they told me it’s definitely from them and they spotted some dodgy activity. I’d recommend ringing Barclays directly instead of just waiting for a call - that way you know for sure you’re not getting scammed.

I got a text from this number claiming to be Barclaycard's anti-fraud team, asking me to reply Y or N about some recent purchases. Before that, I had received a message from a different number saying it was Barclaycard too, but that one seemed a bit dodgy as well. I replied with an N since some of the transactions they mentioned were actually mine, but honestly, I’m not sure if I handled it properly.

Got a message from this number right after a text claiming to be from Barclaycard. Then I got an automated call. I ignored what the call told me and just hung up. Looked up the calling number on their official site and it was legit. But the number that sent the text didn't appear as genuine. When I rang them back using the proper contact number, turns out my account really had been hacked with the payments mentioned in the text.

I'm almost certain this number is linked to Barclaycard. I’d just got back from holiday where my card was rejected at the airport on the way out. Right when I switched my phone on, it started ringing with an automated message, which I ignored because if they truly wanted to reach me, a real person would call. Then, I got two calls from 0800 161 5338 numbers, both of which I didn’t pick up. Afterwards, Barclaycard sent a text from the same 413147 number asking if it was me trying to use the card, instructing me to reply ‘Y’ if it was, or call in case it wasn’t. I replied ‘Y’ and got a thank you message back. Why didn’t they just send that text first? It was a much simpler and clearer way, and I wouldn’t have been left wondering if it was some sort of scam!

Got a text from this number saying they were doing a fraud check on behalf of DHL UK. The message asked if I tried to make a payment of £1400 on 05/10/16 and told me to reply Y if I did or ring 0843 289 6064 if not. I thought I'd ring up DHL directly to warn them about this, but the person I got told me it wasn't their problem and didn’t seem bothered at all!

Without a doubt, this is Barclaycard. I got a message from a number I’d seen before about my credit limit saying they were carrying out a fraud check on my card, and that I'd get another text from 07537413147 to ask about some transactions. I rang the number on my card and an automated voice confirmed the fraud check. As soon as I replied ‘no’ to not recognising a transaction, they called me straight back and found two suspicious transactions. They cancelled my card on the spot.

This number is definitely a scam. If you get any messages from them, make sure you ring up your credit card company straight away but use the official number from their website, not the one they send you. They pretend to be from Barclaycard’s fraud team. From what I’ve seen on other forums, this has been going on for ages. When I called the number back, the person said they were Barclaycard, but I’ve already checked with Barclaycard myself and told them about the call - they just ended the call! Don’t hand over any details, it’s a con.

this number is legit and it’s from barclaycard’s fraud team. they texted me from 07537413147 with a list of recent charges on my card and asked me to reply with y for yes or n for no to verify if they were fraudulent. i phoned a known official barclaycard customer service line and got straight through to the fraud dept who confirmed this was their number. they cancelled my old card and sent me a new one. if you get any texts from this number, get in touch with barclaycard immediately.

Watch out for anyone claiming this number is legit. It's most likely scammers trying to convince you to respond. I rang Barclaycard myself and they confirmed it's fake. If you stop and think about it, it’s obvious - scammers wouldn’t bother with a number that looks so suspicious and unlikely to get callbacks. Also, if they manage to get your phone number and date of birth, they can easily gather more personal bits like your name, which could lead to identity theft. Stay cautious!

I keep getting texts from 07537413147 saying they’re from Barclays. So, I phoned that number, and a voice said, “Hello, this is Barclaycard’s fraud prevention team, we’ve spotted some unusual activity on your card and want to keep you safe.” How do they even know who’s calling? I’m pretty sure Barclaycard rang me from this number, but on here it says it belongs to ‘Kim’ and mentions a freephone Kim contact. I then received a voicemail with some similar numbers. Totally suspicious! I’m sticking to the verified numbers only.

I got a message from 08453561060 claiming they were carrying out Fraud checks on my Barclaycard and warning me I’d get a follow-up text from the 07 number. That second message asked me to send my Date of Birth to that 07 number. Definitely don’t reply to it! The 0845 number here isn’t the same as the other number shown elsewhere on this site. They’ve called both my landline and mobile loads of times from that 0845 number, and they even know my name. Over the years I’ve had calls from genuine bank Fraud departments and I can tell you these lot aren’t legit at all. Someone posted saying these are Barclays numbers… absolutely not. They’re scammers, likely a young guy with a Northern accent trying to trick you. Stay well away from it!
