I received a text message confirming my booking at the Holiday Inn in Washington, complete with a reference number. So, I managed to track down the hotel's phone number and gave them a call. They verified that the reference number was accurate and it had my mobile number linked to it. They assured me they would update my mobile details. However, right after I hung up, I got another text notifying me of changes to the dates of my reservation! Quite the turn of events, isn't it?

I've just received the same message and I have my suspicions. I'm thinking that if we respond with "STOP," they might see our number as active and then try to hit us with charges. It leaves me in a bit of a dilemma-should I just leave it be or should I actually respond to stop it? Quite the conundrum, isn't it?

Blimey, I’ve just received the same text message twice within ten minutes! I can’t shake off the feeling that it’s a scam. Is there anyone out there who can confirm this?

We've received the exact same message a staggering four times now, and we're utterly baffled as to who sent it or what on earth it pertains to!

I’ve just received the same message, and I responded with ‘stop’. I’ve got a feeling that was precisely what they were after, and now I’ll probably end up getting billed for it. Quite infuriating, to say the least!

Us as well! We shot a text saying STOP. Oh my goodness! I hope we never receive any of these messages again!

I've received the exact same message twice now. I've blocked the number, as we’d prefer to pay the 20p fee for each text rather than keep getting bombarded with similar messages.

We've just received one ourselves. I’m beginning to suspect that replying with terms like "quit" or "HELP" might come with a fee.

I'm in the same boat! It's incredibly frustrating. Could Ofcom not step in and dish out some penalties when they’re warranted?
