Today I got a call and when I picked up there was a recorded voice claiming to be HMRC saying they’d been trying to contact me and that there was a legal case against me.

I've only received one call today and it seemed pretty suspicious to me. I’m quite certain HMRC wouldn’t just leave a message like that - they’d send a letter if there was any real issue.
