Got a call from 07597180048 claiming to be the Financial Advice Bureau, asking if I owed any money. When I asked for more details about their organisation, they just repeated who they said they were and pushed the question about my debts. I tried once more to find out who they really were, but then they just hung up on me.

I got a call from this number too. Some bloke with an Asian accent was going on about my warranty being cancelled or something like that. He even tried to scare me by giving me an address and said I was “chased” or whatever. I don’t get what they’re trying to achieve with this nonsense. They’ve rung me a few times now (07537184708) and I’m definitely gonna block them. It’s mad how they keep targeting people, especially those who might actually believe it. Just like many others have said here, I got a couple of scary text messages on my phone claiming to be from HMRC, warning me I was about to be arrested right away. Shortly after, someone rang claiming to be the Case Officer handling my "case". It really shook me up and made me feel awful. Luckily, I didn’t ring back but looked you guys up first. I’m so grateful for this brilliant website - it’s really calmed me down. Feels like I can breathe easy again. But seriously, why isn’t this scam being properly looked into? Or is it already and we just don’t know?

Today, I received a rather dubious call from an individual who sounded distinctly non-British, using a UK landline. He proceeded to make some outlandish claims about a lawsuit against me, insisting he represented HMRC. The chap had the audacity to say I could end up in jail if I didn’t heed his demands. It’s painfully obvious this is a scam; HMRC certainly doesn’t conduct affairs in such an unprofessional manner.

So, just today around half five in the arvo I had a caller from Bishop Auckland claiming to be HMR. They hooked me up with some bloke with a thick foreign accent. Before he could say much, I told him exactly where to shove it. Honestly, I joked about handing over my cash and then some for the whole crew! Calls like this are an absolute disgrace - people like that either deserve a good kicking or worse, some proper payback with a rope.

This number has called my elderly parents three times today, and it’s really upset them. Mum’s in her 80s and currently going through cancer treatment, so these calls are causing her a lot of unnecessary stress, even though I’ve told her it’s just a scam. When the phone rang again, she was so startled she didn’t want to answer - it turned out to be her sister checking in on her. Honestly, the people behind this nonsense deserve some serious consequences. I won’t curse here, but if I ever figure out who they are, I can’t promise I’ll stay calm!

Got a robo call supposedly from HMRC, but it came from a mobile number and didn’t even say my name or anything personal - totally a pre-recorded scam. When I searched the number, saw loads of others checking it out too, and that’s just here on this site. These scam calls are definitely on the rise, and the powers that be should really crack down hard - maybe with big fines and jail time, so people think twice before doing this. I've gotten the identical voicemail from loads of different numbers, all saying if I don't hit 1 to speak to my case manager, the cops will show up and arrest me. They never say who's supposedly wanted, so it sounds like the warrant is for anyone living here! It’s weird though, the police have never actually knocked on my door.
