Phone number ☎️ 07537180501 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number impersonating HMRC, using automated messages threatening legal action or arrest to intimidate recipients. Callers often urge pressing a key to speak to a "case worker," which can lead to premium rate charges. Got a call from the same number just yesterday, someone pretending to be from HMRC saying I'd get arrested if I didn’t pay up. These scammers just don’t give up!

Got a voice message saying there’s some lawsuit thing going on and I should ring back. Cheers for the warning, but seriously, what are the authorities actually doing to tackle this scam?

Today my elderly mate got a call saying she was involved in a lawsuit, with a bunch of automated prompts telling her to dial 1, 2 or 3 to respond. Because her hearing isn’t great, she had to listen a few times and kept pressing 1 to try and talk to the person on the other end. Unfortunately, I think she’s been connected to a premium number and is going to end up with an outrageous phone bill from BT. These scammers are nothing but trouble. Total scam.

I received a call from the number 07537 180811, claiming to be from HMRC, complete with a recorded message. I've gone ahead and blocked both numbers. However, I worry that someone less savvy might fall for their ruse. It's imperative that these fraudsters are put out of business!

I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMRC saying I owed money, but that’s just not how they operate. They always need to confirm who they're talking to because of privacy rules, plus they normally ring from 03000 numbers. This sounds like a scam to me, so definitely don’t press any buttons or follow their instructions.

Got a call from some automated voice claiming to be HMRC, saying they were suing me. I just ended the call straight away. About 30 minutes later, I checked and found out the local cops are warning folks that it’s a scam. Weirdly, they seemed to have some personal info about a few people who’ve complained already. I also called my accountant who warned me not to press any buttons during such calls, as it usually ends up connecting you to expensive premium lines.

Today my old mum got a call from some scoundrels who said she’d go to jail unless she paid £1500 to some place in Norwich. Luckily, she refused, but you can bet some folks might fall for it. They even accused her of being racist just because she had trouble with their foreign accents. These awful scammers really should be behind bars.

Got a call just now, same old story - HMRC stuff, something about a legal case and press 1 to speak to an officer. I was pretty sure it was a scam straight away, but a tiny bit of me was curious. Had the same call a short while ago. I just finished sorting my tax return so I’m certain everything’s fine - this has got to be a scam. Plus, HMRC would never contact you like this. Received a call at precisely 10:05 today, 12th September 2017, and it was yet another repetition of that same monotonous recorded message. Just like others who have endured this experience, I can confirm it’s a scam-this has been highlighted by several law enforcement agencies. A quick search online reveals a plethora of similar reports. For further details, you might want to take a look at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/phones/2016/06/warning-fake-hmrc-calls-on-the-rise---what-to-do-if-youve-been-targeted to get an idea of the sort of nuisance to anticipate.
