Got a call where they asked for me by my first name, then when I asked who was calling, they said "Simply Connect" and asked how I was. As soon as I heard that, I just hung up. Those phrases are so obvious, especially when older folks get targeted. Someone mentioned their 90-year-old mum keeps getting calls, I guess she’s on a landline? You might want to get her number put on the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) list, though I think it mainly works for landlines.

Got a call from an Asian guy who knew my name and said he was with Simply Connect, ringing for O2. He started off by asking how I was, but I cut him off straight away and told him I wasn’t interested before he could start on his sales spiel.

I had a rather persistent phone call from someone attempting to promote a fantastic offer on an O2 SIM card. This chap, who appeared to be of Asian descent, was exceptionally adamant about needing my banking information to move forward. I outright declined to share such sensitive details and promptly ended the conversation. I can’t shake the feeling that it was likely a scam of some sort.
