Got a text from a person saying they're Erika, from Leeds, interested in buying my motorbike. The way they wrote was pretty bad and some things they asked didn’t really have anything to do with my ad. It seemed a bit dodgy so I decided to look up the number and found this discussion here.

Had a dodgy call from someone claiming to be Erika in Peterborough, trying to pull a Gumtree scam. Definitely a con! Wouldn't trust it at all.

Got a message from someone called ‘Erika’ asking about a car I’d put up on Gumtree. She kept pushing me to buy a car report from Autochecks.com first. I had a quick look on Pistonheads and it mentioned this is a well known scam to steal bank details. I ended up ordering the report for £18.99, but honestly it wasn't worth the money and looked pretty dodgy. I’m pretty sure she won’t turn up tomorrow unless she tries some other trick to keep the scam going.
