This has got to be one of those dodgy PPI scams. It’s so annoying and feels like harrassment. You know the message, “WE HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR PPI CLAIM, WE HAVE INFORMATION ON YOUR ENTITLEMENT, REPLY WITH POST FOR PACK OR STOP TO UNSUBSCRIBE” - sounds about right? Got a text from this number earlier. They mentioned they've been attempting to reach me about my Will. Apparently, new government regulations allow them to offer this service at no cost. They said to respond with YES if I'm interested in a complimentary will, or I can reply with STOP if I want to opt out. Quite peculiar, isn't it?

I responded to this number with a message which, out of respect, I won’t share here word for word. Just to give you an idea, the second word started with ‘O’ and was right after a rather rude word beginning with ‘F’. I told them they should keep going with whatever they’re doing until they’ve gone all the way round the world. Then I advised they start the whole journey over again once they finished! Total scam, scam, scam! Definitely block them and report to Ofcom!

Today I received a rather concerning text regarding PPI, but what really makes me uneasy is the part saying 'text STOP to unsubscribe'. My husband had a similar experience some time ago; a message came through from another number claiming he'd subscribed to a service (which he definitely hadn’t) and it had the same opt-out option. He brushed it off, thinking it was just a scam trying to snag active numbers, yet he ended up being billed £4 a month for this fictional subscription until he caught wind of it. When we contacted the phone company, they washed their hands of the situation. How can we ascertain if this is another scam in the making?
