7 yearsI got a message from someone asking me to talk through email at weshardman33@gmailf###], but I don’t have the phone number anymore as I deleted it straight away. This person said they wanted me to send something to Ireland and they'd cover the extra shipping costs. When I asked where they were based, they told me Scotland. Something felt off, so I looked up the name Wesley Hardman and found out it was dodgy. Good thing I was cautious and didn't fall for it!IrelandScotlandWesley Hardman7 yearssomeone messaged me asking to switch the chat over to email, gave me weshardman33@gmailf###]. i can't remember the number now, deleted it straight away. he wanted me to send something to ireland and promised extra cash for shipping. i asked where he was based and he said scotland. that set off warning bells, so i searched his name, wesley hardman. well, here i am. glad i wasn’t daft enough to fall for it.IrelandScotlandWesley Hardman7 yearsjust a heads up, today i got a call from 07418334542 and it turned out to be the same guy, wesley hardman, using a new number. watch out for this one!Wesley Hardman8 yearsToday, something similar happened but instead of ringing me, this person sent a message through some free online texting site. He wanted me to switch the chat over to an email address that seems new: weshardman33@gmaili###]. I've contacted both the police and actionfraud about it. Also made sure to update all my passwords just in case. Honestly, this bloke deserves to be behind bars. I'm absolutely livid.Action Fraud8 yearsI had a pretty similar run-in back in Jan 2019. Someone reached out to me about a bike I was trying to sell on Gumtree, but instead of messaging through the site, they asked me to email them at weshardman33@gmailf###}. I went ahead and sent an email, but after getting a couple of replies that felt off, I got really wary and decided to google the guy's name. Loads of negative hits popped up. Big thanks to everyone sharing their stories here. I've blocked that email now, hoping things don’t escalate with that dodgy bloke.Gumtree8 yearsSo I got a message from someone calling themselves Wesley Hardman about something I had listed for sale on Gumtree here in Australia. It seemed odd because the message showed his name as Wesley instead of just a number on my phone. Then he asked me to get in touch with him by email. I decided to look him up online and stumbled across this site. Really pleased I did!Wesley HardmanGumtreeAustraliaWesley8 yearsI got a suspicious email from "weshardman333(at)gmaill###]" that actually mentioned the product I was trying to sell. It felt dodgy right away since it showed his name instead of a phone number - and I know that normally only happens if you have someone’s number saved. So, I did a quick Google check to see if anything seemed off and stumbled on this site. Guess that answered all my questions.8 yearsGot the same call as you did. Really appreciate having this site to check these numbers. Cheers!8 yearsIt’s crazy but I went through the same scam with Wesley Hardman, using that exact same email and address everyone’s talking about here. I was trying to sell an iWatch on Gumtree and got those exact messages you’ve mentioned. I reported him to the cops after seeing how convincing the PayPal email scam was - it looked very real! Only realised later there was a dodgy extra full stop at the end of the email address.Wesley HardmanApple WatchGumtreePayPal8 yearsLately, I’ve been getting a bunch of texts from someone calling themselves Wesley, but there's no phone number shown, just the name. It’s clear they’re using some kind of app to send these. The reply email they want me to use is something like weshardman333@gmailf###], which looked dodgy from the start. I don’t bother opening these messages, just bin ‘em straight away. The idiot even wrote the email address in the text as weshardman (at) gmail(###], like he thinks it’s clever or something - proper numpty!Wesley8 yearsI got an email from someone claiming to be Wesley Hardman. He said he wanted to buy an item as a surprise birthday gift for his fiancée, Sheila Anthony. He insisted he’d pay any shipping fee and asked me to check the cost through Royal Mail to an address in Elgin, Morayshire. Wesley also wanted to pay via PayPal, saying it’s safer and quicker for online payments. He asked me to send my PayPal info including email, full name, total cost, phone number and item name so he could send the payment. Seemed a bit fishy to me, just thought I’d share.Wesley HardmanRoyal MailSheila AnthonyGlen Moray DriveElginMorayshireScotland8 yearsyeah this bloke is a total scammer, you can tell from the way he talks and his terrible spelling. can't believe he's still out here trying to fool folks. I've already told the police and PayPal about him.8 yearsToday I received a message from weshardman333@gmailcom, asking if my listing on Gumtree was still available and telling me to respond via their Gmail. The original approach came through Gumtree itself. When I replied on Gmail asking which item they meant, their reply was just asking what I had for sale. Bit odd since all my stuff is clearly shown on Gumtree already!GumtreeGmail8 yearsi cant believe it, i got scammed out of 2400 for a laptop today, 1st of august. the guy called himself wesley hardman on gumtree. he had some problems and insisted i send the laptop right away using a bogus paypal payment. so frustrating!BlimeyWesley HardmanGumtree8 yearsHonestly, I wouldn’t recommend using PayPal on Gumtree. It’s a local community platform, and their safety tips always suggest meeting up in person to avoid dodgy situations. If you’re selling something and can’t do a face-to-face handover, probably better off listing it on eBay where postage is the norm. Cash on pickup is the safest bet here.Gumtree8 yearsBeware of a scammer on Gumtree using the name Alexander Williams. He’ll have you send goods to his supposed fiancée Sheila Anthony at 24 Glen Moray Drive, Elgin, Morayshire, IV30 6YA. He sends fake PayPal emails and fake payment confirmations, claiming he’s sent money. Then he tries to get you to pay fees to release the money, which ends up being a scam. I lost about £250 worth of stuff. The bloke was quite rude when I called him out and even dared me to involve the police, saying he wasn’t frightened of them at all.GumtreeAlexander WilliamsSheila AnthonyGlen Moray DriveElginMorayshireIV30Submit Your Own Report (07520 625380)
